NASA will send two missions to Venus to study
NASA says that the two new missions were chosen based on their potential scientific value and the feasibility of their development plan.
The mission will launch between 2028 and 2030.
The last dedicated NASA mission to Venus was the Magellan spacecraft was launched on 4th May 1989.
They represent the first dedicated NASA missions to Earth’s nearest planetary neighbour in over 30 years.
NASA is awarding approximately $500 million per mission for development. Each is expected to launch in the 2028-2030 timeframe.
Why Venus?
One of the major questions about Venus is why, despite being a similar size to Earth golden goose falsas and a similar distance from the Sun.
The true average distance from the Sun to Venus is about 108,000,000 km (67,000,000 miles)
Let's talk about Venus.
Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. As the brightest natural object in Earth's night sky after the Moon, Venus can cast shadows and can be, on rare occasions, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
